super long line

November 20th, 2009

MG and I were at the mall this afternoon to buy some things we would need for the weekend in Batangas.  Yep, we’re spending the weekend in Batangas with our balikbayan relatives.  In fact, I’m still having a problem with our sleeping arrangements.  I don’t want to sleep in the old house.  The last time I slept there was six or seven years ago and it was not a pretty memory.  I kept tossing and turning the whole night.  Do you know that feeling?  Para kang namamahay.  It’s an old house so for sure, there are ghosts lurking around.  Well, I don’t know if there’s a hotel near our town.  If there is, we would definitely be sleeping there.  Anyway, I saw the line at the movies this afternoon.  It was so long and they were all lining up for New Moon.  I so envy them.  I wanted to ditch MG somewhere but my conscience would surely bug me the whole timeif I did that so I didn’t.

It’s the weekend again. It’s a rainy weekend actually. I don’t know why it always rains on a weekend. It seems that God does not want us to go out and enjoy the outdoors. So what do you do when you’re inside and rain is pouring? I make soup or read a book and to tell you honestly, I have a stack of books waiting to be given attention. So this might be the weekend that they get my always divided attention.

a weekend at the beach

October 19th, 2009

I can’t wait to go on vacation.  I was talking to my brother the other day and asked him his plans for the school break starting  next week.  He wanted to stay in the city because he recently pulled a muscle while playing tennis and is now recuperating.  He still can’t walk properly.  It’s a good thing the pulled muscle is in the left leg so he can still manage to drive without any hitch.  Anyway, I invited him to join us when we go to Myrtle Beach Resort on October 31 and spend the Halloween there.  I’m sure the Resort in Myrtle Beach would have a trick or treat activity and the kids can participate.  MG has never done trick or treat before.  If this vacation pushes through, this is her chance to do it.  I hope we can get book a room at Oceanfront Hotel Myrtle Beach.  I heard the rooms there have an amazing view of the ocean and the resort even has a golf course.  Unfortunately, nobody in the family plays golf.  So I guess we would spend our day swimming and perhaps, do a little shopping.  Just a little shopping, I promise.  I hope there would be a concert in the evening.  I heard a lot of artists and bands perform along the Grand Stand regularly.  Oh well, I really hope my brother and his family can join us.

what a week

August 2nd, 2009

What a whirlwind of a week!  There was Arroyo’s SONA on Monday, MG’s field trip to the fire station last Friday and Cory Aquino’s death early yesterday morning.  And I’m not done yet because it’s general cleaning today and I haven’t even started.  Aside from that, MG has been bugging me about going out to Trinoma later.  I would really love to if only I still have the energy to even take a bath.  What I initially planned for the week was a quiet time with a new book and just finish some of the posts for my other blogs.  I guess two days for some weekend is not enough for this mama.

Anyway, happy weekend!  I hope your weekend is doing much better than mine.  =)

Now that it stopped raining, it feels like summer once again. It’s ridiculously hot in here now. Despite the absurd heat, I still have to do some writing. Anyway, I watched Harry Potter on its opening day. I was with my nephew and MG. This was MG’s first time to watch in a cinema so I was more excited than her. But guess what, she slept. It was actually my fault. I don’t even know why I chose to watch in the afternoon when I know that that is her sleeping time. I enjoyed the movie. I didn’t get to read the book though so I was left hanging and wanting and expecting more when the movie ended. I didn’t know that it was already the end. So I’m planning to read Deathly Hollows next after I finished the book I’m currently reading. I have at least 50 more pages to go. Anyway, I want to eat steak and potatoes. After last night’s rain, I’m craving for something filling. We might go out for lunch today. Happy weekend to you all. Peace.

Yes, at long last it’s Friday.  I feel so exhausted just thinking about the hullabaloo of this week. I just want to lie down, close my eyes, sleep. Or do almost anything except washing dishes.  Don’t you find it odd how I hate the dishes?   Anyway, it has been a rather eventful week and I look forward to two days’ leave. But I wonder, what will I do over the weekend?  I’m missing Tagaytay.  I want to eat at  Sonya’s and just hang out with my sister who is addicted to Facebook.  I thought that her fascination with Facebook would die down in a week or two but a month has passed and she’s still at it.  Gawd, to think she’s 40 and has three kids to take care of.  Oh well, that’s her thing.  I can’t judge her.  Besides, blogging is my thing and to think I’m almost 37 and have two kids.  Oh well, that’s my thing.  What’s your thing, anyway?  What’s keeping you up late at night?
