It was a busy week for the family this past week. A lot of last minute shopping, prepping and cooking, and packing. We had to do a lot of packing this week because we spent Christmas and New year outside of home. It’s nothing compared to a house move requiring a moving company, but it’s still tedious. But it was all worth the extra effort as we enjoyed many days with our loved ones. Speaking of moving, never do it yourself. I know it’s the “in” thing to do, DIY, but moving is a different issue. It requires professional people to do the job. If you need a moving company, trust ABF U-pack Moving with everything frommoving and storage services.
Anyway, I hope it would be like that each year. I’m actually planning an out-of-town trip for New Year 2011 this early. Yes, I’d like to avoid cramming and last minute planning for this year. I guess it would be best since the family has entrusted me with organizing major events and happenings this year. And I won’t let them down.

I think Christmas shopping would be different this year. With the economic downturn and all, people would try extra hard to find the best deals. I say, coupons are helpful during these times. I even wonder sometimes why people don’t seem to take advantage of them especially now that they are all over the internet. Just try visiting Sale.com. The site offers coupons for almost every shops and stores. Nobody should buy retail anymore.

Today, the number must-have accessory is the sunglasses. The wrong pair of sunglasses can actually make or break your whole outfit. So it’s not enough for a woman to only have one good pair, she has to have several that would match any occasion and and her wardrobe. Sunglasses are like bags and shoes. You can never have enough. What I have right now and one that I always use is my Chanel sunglasses. It was a splurge for me but after putting it to good use many times over, I think it’s one of the best buys I’ve done in years. But I’m also thinking of getting myself an Oakley pair. I’m trying to get fit once again and I plan to join a marathon next year. And my ever reliable Gucci nor my aviators won’t do the job of protecting me from the rays of the sun and the sweat that comes with running in the outdoors. I might just get an ordinary pair with UV protection. I don’t know. But I’m still saving up for that next big sunglasses purchase. Like I told you, it should match the outfit. And my big Gucci shades does not match the marathon-like outfit I have in mind. By the way, I browsed through Shopwiki the other day. Did you know that Oakley products are never put on sale? That’s a company policy.

I’ve been eating a lot of soup and sandwich lunches lately. No, I don’t make the soup from scratch. I wish I could but I just don’t have the time. What I do is either open a can, heat and serve or open a sachet, pour hot water and stir. Soup and sandwich lunch is filling. I’m not sure if it’s healthy but it helps me feel good and satisfied. There’s something about this combo that seems warm and homey. It’s definitely better than drive thrus which MG and I had for the first time this week. Ugh!

Or what others call cheap tickets but good seats. This is what everyone tries to look for whenever there is news of a good game, a good concert or play in town or even Chicago Bears Tickets. It’s always more fun watching anything live or in action. Television is convenient but there is something with actually being there to witness the event that is more appealing and yes, actually more exciting and more fun. With my family, we are all different in the sense that we watch varied shows or spectacles. My brother and father love to watch sports games. That’s why they always keep watch on Philadelphia Eagles Tickets for they like to watch the games live. While to keep tabs on sports tickets, my sister and I try to go after concert tickets. It has been awhile since we’ve watched a good concert. And it’s also awhile since the last time we watched something together. I hope that before the year ends, we could do something together. And watching a concert or theatre is perhaps just one of them. I told my sister to buy Bank of America Theatre Tickets for a change and to purchase only at ACheapSeat.com.

Drug is a huge problem in our society today, most especially for the youth. How many cases or crimes have been reported in the news that almost always the use of drugs is the cause? Yes, money is not the only root of all evil nowadays, drug is too. But we can prevent our kids from taking drugs. It’s not easy because there is peer pressure and the influence of media on our daily lives. Our youth is also surrounded by false idols in the name of Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and more. Our children idolize these people because they think they represent the generation today. But all they do is set bad examples for the young. Drunk driving, smoking pot and taking drugs have become commonplace that our kids don’t know what is right and wrong anymore. This is where our firm hands, open communication and parental love come in. Again, it’s not easy. We have to be creative when talking to our children so we may not sound like we’re preaching. Still, sometimes no matter what we do, they still lose track of what’s good. Oftentimes, the influence is too much for them to handle that they give in to drugs. But we can’t let go. In fact, they would need more guidance and more love. This is where drug rehabilitation comes into play. We need help as much as our kids need them. There are different treatments for drug addiction depending on the level of dependency. A drug rehabilitation in Michigan offers a free service to help you find the best treatment possible for your loved one. They have counselors who can show where to begin with the treatment and the road to recovery. There are different types of treatment programs: inpatient, out-patient, residential centers. But no matter which type, you can be sure to find the help your loved one needs.

I was talking to my friend awhile ago and she said she just finished cleaning the yard. Nothing beats cleaning the yard. That’s what she said and she even went as far as telling me she’s looking forward to doing it again next week. I thought she was joking but apparently, she’s serious as serious can be. Well, I think what she meant was it was good exercise. Who would want to do the yard? I know someone who is not fond of yard maintenance. My friend Mags opted for a low-maintenance backyard when they were house hunting. She had it landscaped by Cumming Landscaper. She instructed them to leave a small patch of soil so she could have her very own organic vegetable and herb garden. That’s her dream–to have an organic vegetable garden. But everything else was paved with bricks. As for me, I don’t have a backyard so I don’t think I’ll ever have a problem. And I don’t know if I’ll ever grow to love or even just like gardening. It’s too much work in my opinion. But I would love some plants in my home. Just potted plants, some orchids and patio chairs and tables. What about you? Are you a garden person?
