need eyeglasses

March 12th, 2010

I was looking for a great pair of eyeglasses the other day to protect my eyes from constantly looking at the computer monitor when I came across an article by Eric Hammer mentioning about affordable eyeglasses from Zenni Optical. Since I need eyeglasses badly, I read the article thoroughly and I was quite impressed how cheap these eyeglasses from Zenni Optical are yet they can also be considered of high quality materials. These days those two qualities are difficult to find in one product. Affordability and high quality are two opposite poles nowadays. When I visited the site and I particularly like the line of less than $10 frames they are offering. For as low as $10, you’d get a decent pair of eyeglasses. Isn’t that great especially now that everyone is on a tight budget. Nothing can beat that in my opinion.

I remember one instance I had to buy prescription eyeglasses for my son who suffered from blurred visions for many weeks. I accompanied him to an eye doctor and the verdict was Astigmatism. So we had to buy eyeglasses for him and I spent around $150 for the whole thing. Anyway, I should have gotten his pair at Zenni’s.The doctor that we went to had a whole set of eyeglasses to choose from that it felt like we had to buy from him. I should have said no. I should have done what Eric Hammer did as written in his article. He goes to his optometrist but he directly goes to Zenni to have his pair made. Oh well, that’s the exact thing I’ll do now.

really amazing

February 15th, 2010

I remember when my friend threw a baby shower for me. It was so last minute so I can understand some of the irregularities that happened during the shower itself. There was a mix up in time. Some of my friends came 2 hours after the shower started. Some were on time and others got the dates mixed up. But all in all, it was fun seeing friends after a long time. Anyway, when it was time to open the gifts, I was so excited. Who wouldn’t be excited receiving lots of gifts and they’re not even for you? When I opened the gifts one by one, many of the items were alike. For instance, I had two baby carriers, 3 of the same toy, two bath tubs different color, and three baby albums of the same design and color. How weird! Who would need two baby carriers unless of course, if I had a twin? But I was pretty sure I had just one baby on my tummy that time. Anyway, it would have been nice if AmazingRegistry.com were present then. But my baby shower happened 19 years ago. Imagine having just one registry but with different stores to choose from. Look at all the stores included in the The best baby registry ever. There is BabiesRus. There’s also Amazon even Pottery Barn and babyearth. Imagine combining all these registries into one convenient registry and the best part is you get all the benefits these stores offer no matter what. It’s really amazing. You get to choose what you need without the fear of having double or even triple gifts. Mommies today would really have a blast using this service.

another year

January 4th, 2010

Another year, another chance.  I recently watched a show wherein the host, who is a financial guru, gives advice to her televiewers.  One segment of the show is a question and answer portion.  The caller asks for advice regarding something that he wants to purchase.  The thing is, the host tries to analyze the caller’s financial situation by looking into his savings, retirement savings, salary, mortgage etcetera.  After careful analysis, she then gives her verdict.  To buy or not to buy.  What got my attention is that most of the callers have enough money in the bank, have stable jobs and can quite afford a splurge once in awhile but the “guru” advised most of them against going ahead with the purchase.  The supposed purchases range from an electric guitar to a Alaskan cruise.  Anyway, I got scared since I don’t have enough money in the bank, I don’t have a stable job, I’m middle aged yet I shop and spend for unnecessary things.  At the rate I’m going, I’ll be broke in a month.  I should rethink my financial situation and make adjustments before it’s too late.  I should probably look into certificate of deposits. I heard that such deposits earn higher interests. That would be a good start.

boracay again

January 4th, 2010

We got back from Boracay two weeks ago and we’re already planning our next trip to the island this year.  It was a memorable one for us.  It was the first time after a long, long time that everyone was present for Christmas dinner.  Even my sister who had a misunderstanding with my dad was present for this once in a lifetime event.  But they’ve actually kissed and made up even before the trip.

So offices and businesses were close during the holidays and that included my brother’s car shop.  Yes, he closed his shop to join us.  He rarely gets a vacation.  Having a full time business is more stressful than being employed.  But it has more perks and advantages.  You could potentially earn more if you have a sound business plan.  Anyway, my brother plans to get one of those business credit cards to increase his business’ credit score.  It won’t do anything for his personal credit score but it would definitely build a credit reputation for his business.  And as every businessman knows, a good credit history is crucial in any business.  And I hope this step helps his business grows so he could shoulder all the expenses of our next vacation.  I only wish him success. He has been working hard.

bidazzled

December 27th, 2009

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Bidazzled. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have never really given anything major in any charity work. I mean that in terms of giving money to charity because I don’t have enough to share in the first place. But what I lack in money, I compensate it with charity works through volunteering and giving away old stuff that we don’t need anymore but might be of use to others. That’s why when I heard of Bidazzled, I was glad as this is another avenue for me to extend help to worthy causes.

Bidazzled is a simple auction site that works just like eBay. The site has almost all the name brand products. There can bid on various items and at the same time you save a truck load of money you are still funding a charity.Yes, the only difference is the money the auction site earns is given out to a charity called The Jimmy Ruch Fund that promotes awareness, treatment alternatives and resources for Small Cell Lung Cancer. Getting started is very easy and fast. With a few simple steps, you can start bidding and helping out a charity at the same time.

So, if you ever want to try auctions, try Bidazzled and help fund the Jimmy Ruch Foundation. It feels good to help while doing what you love doing….shopping.

cheap eyeglasses

December 18th, 2009

I was looking for a great pair of shades for our trip to Boracay this Christmas when I came across an article by Eric Hammer mentioning about cheap eyeglasses from Zenni Optical. Well, I’m not yet in the market for a pair of reading glasses but it might come in handy in the future as my eyesight is not the same as when I was younger. So I visited the site and I particularly like the line of holiday eyeglasses they are offering. For as low as $10, you’d get a decent pair of eyeglasses.  Isn’t that great especially now that everyone is on a tight budget.  They are high quality and yet they’re also very affordable.  Nothing can beat that.

easy coupon shopping

December 12th, 2009

Using shopping coupons nowadays is so common.  In fact, there are many websites out there that offer free coupons for you to use.  And one such website is PricePickle.com. But what makes the site different is that getting coupons at pricepickle is much easier than the others. Just find your preferred store and click on the view coupon button. It’s that easy. Unlike with other sites that look cluttered and full of unnecessary advertisements, PricePickle.com looks neat and easy to navigate and get around.  It also lists coupons according to category, special offers, expiring and of course, store name.  Visit the site now and start coupon shopping.

Funkoos Organic Clothing for Babies

December 8th, 2009

funkoosI know now what to give to friends’ newborn kids this Christmas.  It would have to be organic baby clothes and I really think they would love them.  It’s the perfect Christmas gift for kids up to 24 months since it’s made from natural materials and none of that synthetic ones that make baby’s skin all itchy and irritated.  Now the only problem is what specific item to give.  Funkoos has a lot of great cute stuff that it’s hard to choose.  Should I go for the bodysuit or the sleep gown?  Or both?  In any case, I think any item would be much appreciated.  Besides it’s the thought that counts or so they say.

mom turning 60

November 22nd, 2009

My mom is turning 60 this December.  My sister and I are planning to produce a short movie or feature that would have all her siblings, relatives and her loved ones give short meaningful messages.  It’s a tough task especially for me who is in charge of going from one relative to the next to record their messages.  I haven’t started yet.  I have to call and inform each one about the plan and I’m not even sure if everyone would be agreeable.  There are even relatives in the province that I have to visit for this.  If only they know how to use the technology of the internet and post their messages in social networking sites so it would be easier for me.  But unfortunately, they are as low-tech as they come.  Aside from that, I have to find the perfect gift for her 60th birthday.  I t should be something special and should be something that she likes.  The last time I spoke to my mom, she wanted this branded esq watch. It’s a bit expensive but I know that would make her happy. We want this event to be truly memorable for her.  So I guess she’d be getting that watch and a ton of best wishes on her 60th year here on Earth.

dirt devil 2009

November 20th, 2009

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Dirt Devil. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you heard about Dirt Devil Online Shopping Guide?  If you are into shopping online, then you should have this guide.  Christmas is just five weeks away and I’m sure all of us are rushing to do our shopping so we could focus on the meaning of Christmas once it comes.  To tell you honestly, I haven’t started with mine.  Although I have had my list with me for three weeks now, it has not been used yet.  It’s a good thing I found this holiday guide that would help me with my shopping.  I might be doing most of my gift shopping online this year.  Perhaps most of my gifts would be bought online especially after reading through the guide and learning where to get discounts and coupon codes on practically everything.  This guide has over 300 ways to save when online shopping.  I especially love the idea of the second annual free shipping day which will happen on December 17, 2009.  That should save me a lot of money.  You know how much shipping costs these days.  Sometimes it’s more expensive than the item itself.  For the couples, you won’t have a hard time finding that perfect gift for your partner.  The guide has plenty of gift suggestions for him or her.  If I were you, I would go on over to DirtDevil.com and download the guide now.
