busy week

January 22nd, 2010

It was a busy week for me and it looks as if it’s not about to change. I’m going to work on a project this weekend apart from organizing my dad’s birthday party this Saturday. I don’t even want to know the ton of work lined up for next week. One at a time. That’s the trick. Just focus on one task till you finish it. I’m actually no good when it comes to multi-tasking. When I do this, the results are almost always half-baked. Anyway, I will leave in an hour to to have business cards printed for my sister. It would have been an easy thing to do but she asked specifically for cheap business cards. Where am I going to get those in an instant? It’s a good thing there are online sites that do that. So I might not even leave the house this morning.  I came across PrintsMadeEasy.com.  just now and it’s a good thing the site offers priority shipping.  I could send those business cards straight to my sister’s home.  I’m liking this day.  I get things done without leaving the house.  It saves on gas and parking fees.  Great!  I might even get a few hours of sleep before I pick up my kid from school.

getting serious

January 20th, 2010

People are really getting serious about blogging. Why? For one, they are getting their own domain names. Getting your own domain means paying for it and anything you pay for only means that it’s something important and worth your while. That you’re willing to shell out money to achieve your goal is serious. I have my own domain and I’m glad I did. People who read my blog think that what I write here are all true. They don’t know that half of it are fiction. No, kidding aside. Anyway, if you’re really serious about blogging then you should get paid web hosting. More and more bloggers are discovering the advantages of getting their own web hosting. You don’t have the restrictions of a free webhost. With paid web hosting, you are in charge. You can increase your bandwidth, increase your space and really customize everything based on your needs. You can also have your own email address or addresses. And there is tech support. Most even offer 24/7 tech support. And it’s really not that expensive to get your own webhosting. But the best thing perhaps is when people visit your site, they would know instantly from your own domain and webhost that you are serious about your product. That your visitors can trust you. So, how do you choose the right web host for you? Try to read about web hosting news. Know what your needs are. For more information about webhosting features, you may also visit WebhosstingGeeks.com.

a new year, new everything

January 16th, 2010

My sister has this ritual.  You know how everyone wants to start anew at the beginning of the new year.  We make new year’s resolutions that we try to keep for as long as we can.  We reconnect with friends and relatives we have lost touch with.  We clean the house.  We clean our closets.  Throw out the old ones that don’t fit and keep the ones that almost fit.  Well, that’s all good, right?  Even though we all know that we would go back to our old ways once we encounter real life again.  That’s alright, too.  That’s just how it is.  It’s a vicious cycle but a cycle nonetheless.

Anyway, my sister is the same but quite different.  That’s confusing, I know.  She also wants to start anew but it extends to everything she does and she has.  She wants a new car, a new hairdo, new cell phone.  She wants new everything.  If houses were not so expensive, she would be buying a new house every year.  Of course, she also wants a new batch of totally revamped and redesigned business cards.  I told her she could have business cards online. She can even choose from a wide range of styles and templates so she can have a fresh batch when she gets tired of the old ones.  I don’t know what else she wants.  Does she want a new husband?  Oh yes!

a good moving company

November 26th, 2009

Don’t you just hate it when a company does not have a website?  In this day and age of the world wide web, it can’t be helped when you do a background check on someone before meeting him in person.  We are all guilty of that.  So it only follows that before pursuing a business with a certain company, you also do a background check.  The telephone does not count.  So a company website is the next best thing.  Just like when my brother-in-law’s company decided to move last year, we consulted the internet and found Los Angeles Office Movers and of course, we checked their website.  After reading the content of their site, we decided they’re a good moving company and true enough, when we inquired over the telephone, they were very helpful and answered all our queries. If you need a Moving Services Los Angeles, try MelroseMoving.com. I already did the initial background check to save you precious time. Or you can call their toll free number at 1-800-431-3920 if you’re not too convinced.

build a website with hpage

October 19th, 2009

There is a new website builder that you can try for free.  It’s Hpage.com.  You can actually  build a website with Hpage from scratch and it’s so easy.  No need for techie skills or html knowledge.  Everything is provided for you and what’s good about the Hpage is that is that you can earn points just by logging in and using the other applications.  So what do you do with those points?  You can actually use these points to earn extra storage space, a free forum or even a free newsletter.  You can get a free newsletter from other platforms.  That I’m sure of.  There are other ways to earn points but the easiest is just by logging in to your account.  And when you sign up, you get free points instantly.  And there’s even a feature that that gives you a chance to be the website of the day.  Your website is displayed prominently on the right side of the homepage.  You can practically advertise you website without shelling out precious money.  It’s a point system and it really depends on you how many points you’d like to earn.    You can also promote your website through other means like  link exchange, premium links and directory advertising.  By the way, you can see how my website looks here:

car roof boxes

October 1st, 2009

When you have kids, you can’t help but bring too many things when you travel.  But sometimes storage space in the car is a problem. Things like stroller and luggages take up too much space. That’s why cheap car roof boxes are the answer to every parent’s problem.  You can have now bring your bike or even kayak the next time you’re headed out in the country.

recycling

September 29th, 2009

After the storm and flood last Saturday, it makes you want to be more responsible environmentally.  I hope every local government in the country would put up more recycling centers.

mississippi

September 23rd, 2009

When you talk about Mississippi, you can’t help but mention or talk about their music.  This is the birthplace of the blues and music legends like BB King and Elvis Presley.  And when I visit this place someday,  I won’t miss the chance to each and every key site in the Mississippi Blues Trail.  Right now, I’m learning more and more about this state through some mississippi chat lines.

montana

September 22nd, 2009

When you think about Montana, the first that comes to mind is Yellowstone Park.  But do you know that Montana is also famous for some of the eerie, scary and most haunted hot spots in the US?  How do I know this?  Of course, I discovered this through this montana chat room. So Montana is not all about grizzly bears and wolves, it’s also about ghosts.

vermont

September 19th, 2009

I heard that Vermont city is one of the most beautiful cities in the US.  You can generally do any activity here from hiking, biking, fishing, or paddling and even golf.  It probably has something to do with its lush nature setting.  The people there are lucky.  They live in a refreshing and unspoiled countryside.  Anyway, I wish to join a vermont chat room if only to know more about their beautiful city.
