movie buff

January 28th, 2010

As an admitted movie buff attached to the television almost all day, Avatar couldn’t be more up my alley. The movie is getting good reviews and a friend of mine has even watched it three times. What’s with the movie anyway? It even beat Titanic in ticket sales. The funny thing is James Cameron’s Avatar outgrossing another one of his movies. Avatar seems good except for the odd looks that could very well be trolls in disguise. I don’t know if I love or hate it. Right now as I am so busy doing a myriad of things, I would content myself with a good Video on Rapidshare or a good book when I get a free time in between chores and jobs. The last time I opened a book was last year and the last time I watched a good movie was also last year. It goes to prove that I’ve been working hard. So perhaps in a few weeks or so, I would reward myself with a luxurious spa treatment and a facial. Just thinking about it makes me want to turn off this computer, leave everything as it is, and not worry about the deadlines I have to meet. Not now. But I would surely do all those soon.

super long line

November 20th, 2009

MG and I were at the mall this afternoon to buy some things we would need for the weekend in Batangas.  Yep, we’re spending the weekend in Batangas with our balikbayan relatives.  In fact, I’m still having a problem with our sleeping arrangements.  I don’t want to sleep in the old house.  The last time I slept there was six or seven years ago and it was not a pretty memory.  I kept tossing and turning the whole night.  Do you know that feeling?  Para kang namamahay.  It’s an old house so for sure, there are ghosts lurking around.  Well, I don’t know if there’s a hotel near our town.  If there is, we would definitely be sleeping there.  Anyway, I saw the line at the movies this afternoon.  It was so long and they were all lining up for New Moon.  I so envy them.  I wanted to ditch MG somewhere but my conscience would surely bug me the whole timeif I did that so I didn’t.

new moon

November 19th, 2009

Two more days and it’s New Moon day.  But I won’t watch it on opening day.  MG’s school is only two hours every Friday because that’s there fun day and they just basically play or do art at the end of each week.  But I have 5 hours of free time next Wednesday so I might watch it that day.  Again, I will go alone.  I can’t find a friend who’d watch it with me.  They will either watch it on opening day or they’re just busy.  But I’m still super excited.  I want to see Jacob’s new physique and if it’s reason enough to switch to Team Jacob.  =)

“Goodfellas is released.

In its 146 minute running time “fuck” is said 296 times - nearly twice every minute.

About half of them are Joe Pesci’s.”

eric bana

July 12th, 2009

One of my favorite actors is Eric Bana.  No, I did not watch all his movies but the movie that I did watch was enough for me to love and adore him.  I loved him in Munich.  I thought he did a great performance.  I know that the movie was nominated for Movie of the Year at the Oscars and I know that Steven Spielberg was also nominated for the Best Director but he lost to Martin Scorsese, I think.  I’m not really sure.  My mind is not that sharp anymore.  Anyway, back to Eric Bana.  I think he has the eyes with the most emotions.  I love his eyes so much because even if he does not speak, his eyes say it all.  I really think he needs to be nominated for the BoB Awards if there is even such an award giving body.  This year, I’m looking forward to his latest movie with Rachel McAdams.  The movie is The Time Traveler’s Wife and it will be shown in cinemas this next month.  I can’t wait.  I loved the book and I’m quite sure I’ll love the movie, too.  One more thing, I suppose actors and actresses should have blogs so that they can interact with their fans more.  Don’t you think so?  If ever that happens, I would surely nominate Eric Bana’s blog to the Blog Awards.  And if he says, “Please nominate me in the Best of the Best Awards,” I would surely do.  I would do anything for him.

getting ready for twilight

November 24th, 2008

I just bought a ticket for the first day of Twilight’s showing. And I can’t explain how excited I am. Since I don’t have house help, I requested my dad’s maid to take care of my little girl while I watch the movie. My dad would pick up MG in school and bring her to his home. See, I’ve arranged my Wednesday around Twilight and I hope nothing goes wrong.

By the way, join this survey about Rob Pattinson if you’re a true Twilight fan.

just taking a break

October 8th, 2008

I’m taking a break from reading. Against my will, of course. I’ve finished three books in a span of one week. After finishing The Time Traveler’s Wife, I didn’t waste any minute and immediately started reading Twilight and I’m in love with Edward Cullen. If these were real people, I’m what everybody would call a ‘playgirl’. First, Henry and now Edward. Tsk tsk tsk.

I finished reading Twilight in less than two days and New Moon just overnight. I would have loved to finish the twilight saga but I can’t find a copy of Eclipse anywhere. Copies are unavailable and would only be available in two weeks. They’re out of stock. I went to every bookstore near our place and it’s the same thing. What I intend to do is to borrow from my niece (who lives in Laguna) because I couldn’t sit around for two weeks waiting. I can’t be left hanging. It’s just too frustrating.

Anyway, tomorrow is the premiere of the movie’s new trailer. I won’t miss it. That’s for sure.
