Next month is the love month. After Christmas and the New Year, Valentine comes next. So we’ll be expecting a lot of marriage proposals happening next month. Oh to be young and in love. I never had a man propose marriage to me on bended knee or something. Mine happened so fast that next thing I knew, I was already at the altar. Anyway, I would have wanted my former husband propose to me in a unique way. He could have taken me to a cruise and have a chorale or band sing to me while he asks for my hand. But it’s too late now. So for all the guys out there, be creative. Women like to be treated like we are royalty. If you’re planning to propose anytime soon, I suggest you think of ways to do it differently. Bring her to the beach and have someone build a castle. Put the ring inside the castle and let her find it. Tell her there’s a surprise inside. Or bring her to a cemetery and tell her that only death will set you apart then propose. There are many ways. I’m sure you can think of one. The latter may seem eerie but at least it’s unique.

My mom is turning 60 this December. My sister and I are planning to produce a short movie or feature that would have all her siblings, relatives and her loved ones give short meaningful messages. It’s a tough task especially for me who is in charge of going from one relative to the next to record their messages. I haven’t started yet. I have to call and inform each one about the plan and I’m not even sure if everyone would be agreeable. There are even relatives in the province that I have to visit for this. If only they know how to use the technology of the internet and post their messages in social networking sites so it would be easier for me. But unfortunately, they are as low-tech as they come. Aside from that, I have to find the perfect gift for her 60th birthday. I t should be something special and should be something that she likes. The last time I spoke to my mom, she wanted this branded esq watch. It’s a bit expensive but I know that would make her happy. We want this event to be truly memorable for her. So I guess she’d be getting that watch and a ton of best wishes on her 60th year here on Earth.

Our homes should always be safe and secure. The home is where our family lives. We should do everything to make the people who live in it free from harm or danger. I know that it takes great skill, creativity and craftsmanship in creating or making jewelry pieces.
