pick-ups and trucks

February 5th, 2010

I’m not a fan of big vehicles but I would surely want to drive one someday. My sister actually drives one and everyone seems to be amazed when she emerges from her pick-up all girly and fragile. No one would ever guess that she’s driving a monster pick-up but she likes her ride and would never give it up for a sedan. Not in a million years. She even wanted to put a performance chip so the overall ride is amped. I asked her if she would want to enter any contest or something. She said no.

Yep, that’s my sister. Her choices don’t fit her but that’s what makes her unique. I won’t be surprised if one day her vehicle would have a cat back exhaust or an air intake I keep hearing her talk about.  Her husband just scratches her head whenever my sister wants something done with the pick-up.  He might be thinking enough already but knowing my sister, she won’t stop until she gets what she wants.

She said adding all these will make her car perform better.  She has been checking out RealTruck.com for things she could buy for her precious truck.  Anyway, I should probably make some changes or additions to my own car.

talk about moving

February 2nd, 2010

About moving, quite a few people were asking me last week if I knew of Moving Companies Los Angeles. I’m not really from Los Angeles although my sister and her family have lived there for 20 years now  So when I asked her if she of any Moving Company Los Angeles, she immediately said no.  That’s because my sister has not experienced moving since then.  She has lived in the very same home she’s occupying now.  Lucky for her because it’s a back-breaking, tedious task to and transfer all your things from one house to another.  Imagine the packing and unpacking, hauling, cleaning and all the other things associated with moving.  They require patience and a good, flexible spine to be able to do all that.

Anyway, I knew of one company in Los Angeles who is an expert in moving.  They are one of the first Los Angeles Moving Companies to establish a name for themselves in the business of moving and transfer. Melrose Moving offers superb customer service, free estimates, and professional packing. The company has experienced, professionally trained movers who operate using clean trucks with liftgate & ramp. You can even call them for last minute moving, they would surely accommodate you.

on camping

January 28th, 2010

I have never done camping. When I was younger, our school would often hold camping activities on the school grounds. I never attended one. It was just not my thing. I was more musically inclined back then and would often lock myself inside my room for hours listening to my favorite bands. Duran Duran was the band I frequently listened to. I had my walls plastered with posters of them as a group. My favorite was Nick Rhodes. Anyway, going back to camping…I wish I tried it sooner. Now that I’m older, it’s so difficult to find time to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It would be nice to go camping, eat outside, be with the people you love the most, just sitting on those outdoor chairs and talking till the wee hours of the night or morning.  I know it’s never too late for anyone to do anything and everything except perhaps having a baby at 50.  I don’t even know if it’s possible.  Yeah, it’s never too late.  I might just schedule a camping trip on my birthday or in the summer when the weather is perfect for camping.  I’m quite we wouldn’t be rained out.

nice interior

January 7th, 2010

I was out the whole afternoon doing errands that I only got to eat lunch at around two pm.  I wanted to finish early since I can’t drive beyond 3pm because of color coding.  Anyway, I went to eat lunch near my little girl’s school.  From the outside you would think that it was just one of those small cafeterias offering home-cooked meals but I was surprised to see that it was an upscale coffee shop.  The interiors was elegant with hard wood tables and comfortable stuffed couches and high back seats. The ambience was reminiscent of a warm, cozy cabin with iron cabin decor and the works. All tables were set complete with water glasses, table napkin and expensive utensils.  I immediately thought about my budget.  I promised myself that I would not spend so much on eating out but there I was, about to spend hundreds again.  And true enough, the food was expensive.  The cheapest on the menu was the panna cotta for dessert and I was not even craving for dessert.  So I just ordered a pasta dish which cost around 250 pesos.  Anyway, it was good but not nearly worth it compared to what I had to pay for it.  I might eat there again just to try out the 21 day old steak.

back to work

January 4th, 2010

It’s back to work for most of us.  After almost a week of merriment, it’s now back to reality.  It’s back to the grind.  It’s especially true for my sister who seems to be working harder than usual.  Just today she called me several times if I know anyone or any company that carries promotional products. She needs it for one of her clients who is running for office this election.  Promotional products such as pens, calendars, mugs, t-shirts and even key tags are in demand during election period.  Politicians give these items away to their constituents so they can be heard and known.  These items are great marketing tools whether you run a business or you run a county or country.

Going back to my sister, she’s also looking for laptop and desktop suppliers.  I have a friend who has a computer store and I might set up a meeting so both of them could meet and discuss details.  It’’s only the first working day of the year and yet, my sister is working as if she’s not going to meet her deadline.  Anyway, I really hope she meets all her targets for this year as I’m also hoping that I meet mine.  Welcome back to work!

busy week

January 2nd, 2010

It was a busy week for the family this past week.  A lot of last minute shopping, prepping and cooking, and packing.  We had to do a lot of packing this week because we spent Christmas and New year outside of home.  It’s nothing compared to a house move requiring a moving company, but it’s still tedious.  But it was all worth the extra effort as we enjoyed many days with our loved ones.  Speaking of moving, never do it yourself.  I know it’s the “in” thing to do, DIY, but moving is a different issue.  It requires professional people to do the job.  If you need a moving company, trust ABF U-pack Moving with everything frommoving and storage services.

Anyway, I hope it would be like that each year.  I’m actually planning an out-of-town trip for New Year 2011 this early.  Yes, I’d like to avoid cramming and last minute planning for this year.  I guess it would be best since the family has entrusted me with organizing major events and happenings this year.  And I won’t let them down.

another way to earn

December 20th, 2009

There is another way for us to earn through blogging.  Ebuzz is the latest addition to a number paid to post sites out there.  And what is great about this is sharing your genuine opinions about products and services offered by advertisers.  It literally brings advertisers and bloggers together and both parties get what they want.  Advertisers get buzz for their products while bloggers earn for writing about something they truly want to write about and recommend.  It allows bloggers to earn extra income while developing content for their blogs. It’s a win-win situation for both.
This platform is based on a simple idea that if you like something, you tell your friends and even the world about it.  The only difference is that you earn in the process.  It’s great, right?  If you’re interested, you can register here. It’s already live in the US and you can also start earning by publishing your videos on your blogs.

last minute assignment

December 16th, 2009

School ends this week for my son who is in college. Christmas vacation officially starts this weekend for him.  But one of his teachers decided at the last minute to give the class something to do on vacation.  It’s a last minute assignment and project.  Of course, my kid panicked at first as he was so bent on doing nothing while on vacation.  That’s why you call it vacation, right?  He has to compile home and family articles. When I heard about it, I told him not to worry because I know a site that is full of such articles. He finally relaxed and slept after hearing it.

online market for human knowledge

December 7th, 2009

I’m a stay at home mom.  I take care of my kids 24/7.  I prepare their meals, help my little girl with her assignment and I drive them wherever they need to go.  In other words, I seldom get my alone time.  Really, it seldom happens.  I’m with them day in and day out.  Those are some of the loving sacrifices you need to make the loves of your life.  And to tell you honestly, those sacrifices are all worth it especially when you see your kids getting good grades in school and growing up to be wonderful individuals.

But there are a few things I want to do for myself.  I want to get fit again.  I want to join any marathon in the near future.  And I want to further my knowledge. On anything. I just don’t have the time to get in my car, drive for hours to my destination, and drive back to a congested traffic.  It’s a waste of time.  And my time is precious.  I don’t have time to dilly dally.  That’s why when I heard about WisdomPan.com and the list of skills and help I could acquire online, I became hopeful again.  Imagine the convenience it brings to any mom out there who just does not have the time to waste on traffic and other things. There are many advisors on the site that can help you with a lot of topics.  Some of the topics I’m interested in are internet marketing and selling, wardrobe and fashion consulting, and even auditing.  In fact, I could even offer my knowledge on makeup artistry.  It’s free to join.

Advisors can setup various pricing strategies, charge by consultation, charge by subscription with trial prices and conduct unlimited number of live webinars or live meetings.  You should visit the site to learn more.  It’s really cool.

lovely dresses and bad makeup

December 6th, 2009

This morning I had to leave early to attend a wedding. Well, not really. I actually did the makeup of a friend who is part of the wedding entourage. Too bad I was in a bit of a rush to leave the house this morning that I forgot my camera and my new sponge. Would you believe I had to use my fingers to apply the foundation because my foundation brush was also missing. But the makeup came out alright. In fact, two of her cousins asked for my number for future gigs. They actually wanted me to redo their makeup which was done by another makeup artist. I can’t blame them. Their makeup looked all red. But their Sexy Dresses and gowns made up for the bad makeup job.
