are you gothic?

August 30th, 2009

All I know about gothic is the architecture. Perhaps I should try to find out more about Gothic or Goth and perhaps join one of those gothic chat rooms you find on the internet. Anyway, whatever I find in my research, it would surely be interesting. I mean, I’ve studied makeup and I’ve come across Gothic makeup application and I’m not a fan. Gothic architecture is a whole different thing. It’s kinda amazing even. Anway, if you’re interested in joining chat rooms, I suggest you also join Gothic chat for diversity. You might meet a few good friends while you are there.

more on doug kaplan

August 30th, 2009

Almost everyone I know has a MySpace account including Doug Kaplan. No, I don’t know him personally but I heard that he’s a great marketing man.  He was just promoted to senior VP of Serious Satellite Radio so I guess that’s more responsibility for him.  But he has more potential than anybody else to take on that job because of his marketing and advertising background.  Visit his site and know more about him.

doug kaplan

Doug Kaplan was just recently promoted to senior VP of Serious Satellite Radio. He is now in charge of and is tasked to handle all entertainment and sports deals for the radio. And that’s a big job.  Anyone who makes money for the company has a big role to play.  By the way, he reports to Sirius entertainment/sports president Scott Greenstein.

health insurance

August 30th, 2009

Major topic in most talk shows in the US nowadays is healthcare.  I think Obama has proposed something, I’m really not sure.  But I think it’s important that everyone should get some form of health insurance. One such insurance is BLUE CROSS TONIK.

not so good in Math

August 28th, 2009

My nephew needs help in Math.  He likes to study and excels in most subjects but he particularly hates Math and solving Math word problems.  No matter how hard I try to do the equations for him, he just doesn’t get it.  When I taught him Algebra word problems, the more he got confused.  You see, he lives with me right now as his mother is busy working and has no time to tutor him.  I plan to talk to my sister and discuss the possiblity of some form of Math help or Algebra help.  I heard about TutorVista.com and how the program uses professional tutors to teach kids one-on-one.  It’s basically done via the internet but in a secure web environment, much like what we’re doing in real life tutoring.  There’s a white board on the computer screen that the tutor uses to demonstrate each problem to the student.  For a low fee, you get unlimited online tutoring unlike with a tutor that goes to your home and is on a per hour basis, Tutor Vista offers all access to its pool of professional tutors who are experts in Math and Math problems, Science and English.  That way, my nephew can get Math answers and learn how to arrive at those answers.  And I can have more time with my little girl.

the birthing house

August 27th, 2009

birthing-house1I love suspense/thriller and scary movies but sometimes I prevent myself from watching because I couldn’t sleep at night.  I imagine the characters in the movies actually in the room with me.  I sleep with the lights on to make the fear subside a bit.  And this would normally go on for weeks then I’d forget about it or I’d get used to the horror that I don’t get scared anymore.  But reading supernatural horror and psychological thriller is a whole different experience for me.  It’s more enjoyable as you imagine the characters come to life in your mind.  It’s not as scary.  I try to lessen the scary factor so I could still sleep at night.  But I’m not sure with the new Christopher Ransom stunning debut book called The Birthing House.  It’s a story of a couple’s descent into madness after they purchase a 140-year-old Victorian house in rural Wisconsin.  Unimaginable things happen in that old house. The reviews say that it will keep you glued to the book but will have second thoughts of reading it until the wee hours of the night because it’s that scary and dark.

Ok, if you want to get a taste of it, you can read chapter 1 and 2 first.  See if you don’t get hooked.  You can also watch the book trailer below.

back exercises

August 27th, 2009

There was a time in my life when I experienced tremendous lower back pains for weeks.  I drank pain relievers almost daily because I could not function well enough.  If I had done back pain exercises, it might have eased the discomfort a bit. Anyway, for those experiencing back pains, I know how you feel. But at least now you can do something about it. There’s a program specifically targeted for back pains, just visit Back2Yourself.com for more information.
