mesothelioma

May 31st, 2009

Perhaps you have heard about asbestos exposure and its health risks.  Significant exposure to any form of asbestos will increase the risk of lung cancer, asbestosis , other types of cancer involving esophagus and the larynx and mesothelioma.  The latter being a rare cancer of the thin membranes lining the chest and abdomen.  Symptoms of the diseases take a long time to develop and detection may be difficult.  Oftentimes it takes years before early symptoms of mesothelioma can even manifest and once detected, the person suffering would have only a year to live.  But when detected early, chances of the disease worsening may be reduced.  Some of the signs and symptoms that you may be suffering from asbestos exposure are:

  • Shortness of breath
  • A persistent and productive cough that expels mucus
  • Chest tightness and pain
  • Loss of appetite and significant weight loss
  • A dry, crackling sound in the lungs while inhaling

If you know anyone, a friend, loved one or relative, suffering from asbestosis, mesothelioma, lung cancer or other types of cancer brought on by exposure to asbestos, you have legal rights and may be entitled to compensation and much more.  Consult a Mesothelioma Lawyer now before it’s too late.

one more week

May 31st, 2009

One more week to go before school starts and I still think summer vacation is much too short.  Anyway, I’m beat.  Weekends should just be about relaxation but the past weekends have found me between late night TV viewing and making an attempt to be a good mother to my kids.  I’m in desperate need of a shut eye.  I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead.  As for me, I’ll take advantage of  this last week of vacation to have some R&R.

VoIP service

May 31st, 2009

I seldom talk to my sister and mom in the States.  Not because I’m busy or anything, it’s just that I don’t have a landline phone yet.  PLDT is taking too much time installing whatever it is they are supposed to install.  The result, we either have to use our celphones which by the way, cost so much money or chat online.  The latter I hate because I would rather hear their voice than see a bunch of letters on my monitor.  Plus my mother does not know how to use the computer.  Perhaps it’s time to get voip service. It does not cost as much as international phone calls and it has the same features as your regular landline. Now, why didn’t I think about it before?

credit report at a glance

May 31st, 2009

How bad is a bad credit report?  Well, it’s truly bad.  For one thing, you can’t get a decent loan with a bad credit report.  And even if you are awarded one, the interest rate might be too high.  This is the scenario with a bad credit report.  And time can’t fix your credit report like most of us know.  It won’t just go away with time.  Fortunately, you can do something about it now.  So what should you do?  You can initially get a freecreditreport.  Yes, there are companies that can provide you this.  One that is complete, comprehensive and accurate.  And it does not even cost so much.  It would even cost you more in the long run if you don’t repair your credit.  One such company is creditnexus.com.  They can give a 3 in 1 credit report from three reporting agencies like Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian and at a glance you would be able to see the reasons why you have bad credit rating.  With this information, you may now take steps to repair or raise your credit score.  Also by monitoring your credit, you can work with credit monitoring firms and easily identify fraudulent changes in your credit report that may damage your credit standing and get in the way of your ability to get insurance, get a job or borrow money.

my girl loves to swim

May 30th, 2009

Most of our out-of-towns this summer almost always involved swimming, whether at the beach or the pool.  Kids love to swim and that includes my little girl.  Here are proofs of just how much she loves to swim.

ballerina

May 30th, 2009

All my nieces had studied ballet when they were no more than 7 years old.  But I guess passion is one of the requirements in any creative endeavor.  So my nieces stopped going to ballet classes the moment they realized that it was not for them.  I used to watch their recitals.  They looked so elegant wearing their tights, tutus, ballet shoes and other dance apparel . Sometimes I wish that they pursued with ballet.  It would have been nice if there is a professional dancer in the family.  Anyway, all is not lost yet.  I have a little girl who might one day become a ballerina.

never pay retail

May 29th, 2009

I never buy retail.  I either wait for a sale or never buy at all.  Yes, even if I really and badly want something. Besides there are different types of sales running all the time.  There’s no need to pay or buy retail.  And this applies to everything–shoes, gadgets, clothing, cars and even perfumes.  I always buy discount perfume. The perfumes I buy are not even the generic ones. They’re the real designer perfumes you would find in malls and specialty stores.  Like I told you, with a little research you may never have to pay retail again. And this is coming from a mom who is so used to budgeting and discount shopping. =)

what’s wrong with everyone’s plumbing?

May 29th, 2009

I think almost everyone I know has a problem with plumbing.  What is wrong with our local plumbers?  My dad just called me two days ago asking if I knew any plumber in our area.  Of course, I said no because I just moved here and I don’t know anybody yet.  I asked him what was wrong with his former plumber.  Guess what he told me.  He was not satisfied with the former jobs and apparently, the plumber guy has raised his fees.  I told him it was ok to raise fees as long as the job is at par to industry standards, whatever that means.  Anyway if it was just replacing fittings or faucets, my father could have done it himself.  But the problem this time around is the toilet.  It seems that the water goes down the drain ever so slowly.  As if the toilet is clogged and that issue, my father could not handle.  Anything to do with the toilet, he retreats.  So I told him about Denver Plumbing. They were referred to me by my friend. She saidthat they do the job perfectly and there has never been an incident of back jobs.  I would call my father later to check if he already called the plumber.  Anyway, I hope I won’t be bothered with plumbing problems again.

getting old and “detoxing”

May 28th, 2009

I’ve tried many detox products but I haven’t tried Dual Action Cleanse.  I’ve read so many good reviews about it and I might give it a go one of these days.  It’s good to cleanse once in awhile and I know that I badly need one.  Since I’m getting old and my internal organs have aged as well, it’s all the more important that I do body detox regularly.  And I feel sluggish all the time and I fell as though my energy level is going south everytime I do anything strenuous.  Years ago, it would have been nothing.  Anyway, I heard that this product doesn’t make you wanna go to the bathroom all the time.  Which is what I’m looking for because I’m out most of the time doing errands and fetching MG from school and I refuse to use public toilets.
