I’ve been sick these past days.  That’s the reason why I haven’t been around in the blogosphere.  My sinusitis is acting up again.  It must be pollen season yet again.  I hate it actually.  What’s to like about being sick?  Aside from waking up and sleeping with a terrible headache, medicines can be quite expensive.  Antibiotics and pain relievers are not something you can buy for a dollar.  It’s a good thing I have enough savings for this type of emergency and I won’t have to apply for an Online Payday Loan. Have you been to trade shows or exhibits?  Almost exactly a year to this day, I attended a tourism exhibit organized by the tourism authority.  There I was in Intramuros, Manila, lost in the market place full of ideas.  As I wandered aimlessly among the hundred assembled travel agencies and hotels, I can’t help asking myself the intellectual question:  Where do I start?  To which I quickly answered: Who cares?  Just go around and  see what you’d like.  It might spark an idea or two.

But do you see my point?  That was, after all, a trade show with over a hundred booths lining the midway, each outdoing the other in good old market hustle.  It was a carnival atmosphere–my favorite.  And I loved it.  As soon as I entered I was greeted by a mascot or a big doll.  Instantly I saw men and women dressed in tailoring and costumes so elegant, I almost swooned.  There were also some people going around carrying shopping bags full of freebies.  It was like freebie supermarket.  Having had my fill of serious vacation packages, I headed toward the roads less traveled places for the backpackers.  The lines here were short and I was able to obtain two shopping bags full of tips and discounts for the budget traveler.

MG is best in Math this quarter.  She did so well on her last exam and got a high score.  Actually, she got a perfect score.  Isn’t that great?  She’s really into numbers.  She could even count to a 100 now and can recognize numbers up to 30.  And she can also distinguish and recognize different coins and paper bills.  She absorbs everything.  That’s why I’m careful with words I use.  I used to curse a lot.  But when I heard MG saying bad words, I became more conscious of what comes out of my mouth.  And just last week, I was teaching her the names of the 8 planets according to their order in the solar system.  I didn’t know that Uranus came before Neptune.  What I taught her was this : mercury, venus, earth, mars, jupiter, saturn, neptune and uranus.  When I tried to correct it, she got mad and would not accept it.  So until now she keeps saying the incorrect order.  I’m a bad tutor.  =)

Let me tell you about my previous life as a corporate slave.  I woke up around 6am to get ready for work at 9am.  Yes, this mom had to follow someone else’s schedule other than that of her kids.  I worked the phone in the morning following up clients and the afternoons were spent following up and talking to suppliers and the people from the editorial/art departments.  I was in media marketing, advertising and events.  It was a job full of stress and deadlines.

I took care of the promotional materials from concept to printing and production.  And I tell you it was not easy talking to artists and writers.  I had to talk to a lot of them.  From managing editors, photographers, art directors, copywriters  down to the print supervisor and scan machine operator.  Being artists and all, they had opinions and ideas that they thought were better than the rest.  Too much ego for this 5′2 person to bear.   But at least I had a direct say on which materials to use for banner stands australia.  The suppliers were many.  But I could only pick a handful that offered quality products.  One supplier had an extensive range of POP materials and stands that I had not seen before.  One of those was the brochure stand australia that I got a lot of praises for.  The management and the sponsors were really impressed by the design.  But it was fun while it lasted.  Do I miss the buzz?  Sometimes yes but most of the time I can’t even begin to understand how the hell did I manage such a stressful job.

This week completely flew by and I don’t get to say that very often.  Haha.  You know I’m lying.  In fact, with too many things going on in my life right now I say that almost weekly.  The past few days of scorching hot weather and flurries have me amped and sleepy at the same time.  Amped in the morning and sleepy in the afternoon.  This helped me feel a little better.  At least I got a few weeks of sleeping.  I’m a light sleeper and I don’t get to say that very often.

This Weekend:

• stay at home
• clean some more
• pack some more
• get inspiration

I posted yesterday that I need to clean my space if I don’t want to lose my head.  Well, I just started and it’s sort of coming together.  But I just need to have a break because my head aches at the moment.  The culprit might be the cleaning agent I use that smells terrible.  It literally sticks to your clothes.  And hair.  It’s bad.  Imagine inhaling that vapor.  It’s probably in my system now.  I wish I have these natural cleaning products before I started cleaning.  I heard that those products infuse people with energy.  The reason is that they only use natural herbal ingredients found only in remote locations in Peru and Brazil.  They’re safe to use.  And to families with kids around,  it’s best to switch to keep our kids healthy and safe.
