self-admitted klutz, wicked at times, suffering from multiple irony, but trying to be the best mom and sexiest human being her two children have ever known
Do you have a problem with glitters? I do. You know, those shiny little substance used by kids in art projects. Well, it’s a disease. You go near it and it attaches to you. And it gets onto surfaces of your house like a virus waiting for a host. Or it stays there until humankind is eradicated. This is what happens to anyone with kids. I’m pretty sure that there’s a piece of it around you somewhere.
My kid, ever since she started school, constantly has glitter on her tiny head. I wish I could tell her teachers to put on hold any projects with glitters. I mean, they might inhale or eat it or something. I even see those glitters on my child’s eyelids and it’s so hard to remove. I have to scrape them off and removing eyelashes in the process. And worse, after I remove it, I find it on me.
I just bought a ticket for the first day of Twilight’s showing. And I can’t explain how excited I am. Since I don’t have house help, I requested my dad’s maid to take care of my little girl while I watch the movie. My dad would pick up MG in school and bring her to his home. See, I’ve arranged my Wednesday around Twilight and I hope nothing goes wrong.
By the way, join this survey about Rob Pattinson if you’re a true Twilight fan.
This was a busy week. Construction/renovation of our unit is finally in full swing. The contractor decided to re-waterproof the comfort room, the kitchen area and the balcony. I still can’t understand why he does not trust the developer. Did I make a wrong decision to purchase the place? I dunno. I can’t do anything about it. Or he just wants to make sure…
Anyway, here are some of the photos. You would be able to see how small the place is. But it’s still our home.
upon entering, this would be the living cum dining area
Almost Famous is one of my favorite movies. I love the music from that generation and I also love the director. I think Cameron Crowe is just so brilliant. The last movie he made was Elizabethtown. And guess what, the soundtrack is also cool.
Elton John originally sang Tiny Dancer but the video here is from the movie. Which I think you will all enjoy. By the way, Almost Famous received two Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture (Comedy/Musical) and Best Supporting Actress for Kate Hudson, and Cameron received his first Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
Tiny Dancer by Elton John
Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you’ll marry a music man Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand And now she’s in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand
Jesus freaks out in the street Handing tickets out for God Turning back she just laughs The boulevard is not that bad
Piano man he makes his stand In the auditorium Looking on she sings the songs The words she knows, the tune she hums
But oh how it feels so real Lying here with no one near Only you and you can’t hear me When I say softly, slowly
Hold me closer tiny dancer Count the headlights on the highway Lay me down in sheets of linen you had a busy day today
Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you’ll marry a music man Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand And now she’s in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand

I just finished reading Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini and this was the first time I heard of Hazara people. I got curious and tried to look them up in the internet. They are believed to be descendants of Changez Khan ( Genghis Khan), the great Mongol warrior of 13th Century. In modern history, they reside in the central region of Afghanistan and northwestern Pakistan. They have faced persecution from the Afghans, particularly the Pashtuns. Being different, they are still being despised and persecuted by majority groups up to this day. But look how beautiful these children are…
And this is how I picture Hassan, one of the main characters of the book, would look as a kid
By the way, read the book. I found myself crying halfway through it.
Did you ever wonder what music you were listening to during your teenage years? Me, I was a rocker through and through. I’ve endeavored to get as much of the music of those days as I could and put them in my personal song list. Those songs have influenced me and I will share them with you in the coming days. One by one. And these were not songs listened to by normal people. And maybe, because of these songs I am what I am now. I listened to mostly rock (hard rock, southern rock, progressive rock, metal). It was a lifestyle for me. But mind you, I didn’t look like one back in those days. I didn’t wear a kilo of silver bling, black cut-off shirts or big pointy leather boots! Anyway, this was the time MTV first landed in the Philippines with programs like Headbanger’s Ball hosted by VJs like Danny McGill who were really rockers. This was before the time of the internet.
But for now, I wanna share this song with you. The version I love was sung by Tim Hardin but I couldn’t find a video of him singing this song in youtube. But this will do for now. I swear you’ll love it.
RED BALLOON by Tim Hardin
Bought myself a red balloon
Got a blue surprise
Hidden in the red balloon
The pinnin’ of my eyes
Took a love light from my eyes
Blue, blue surprise.
We met as friends
You were so easy to get to know
Will we see one other again …
Oh, my … I hope so.
Bought myself a red balloon
Got a blue surprise
Hidden in the red balloon
The pinnin’ of my eyes.
Playin’ ‘round with children’s toys
As a child I got
Haven’t time for children’s toys
Though I have a lot.
Bought myself a red balloon
Got a blue surprise
Hidden in the red balloon
The pinnin’ of my eyes.
